About me

Hi, I'm Krista.

Do you find yourself overthinking, putting everyone else's needs before your own, or feeling like you're constantly trying to hold everything together? Life can be overwhelming at times, especially when you're navigating personal challenges, relationships, health concerns, or unexpected changes. Sometimes it can be difficult to make sense of what you're feeling or know where to go from here. Having the opportunity to talk things through, gain a different perspective, and better understand yourself can be a helpful place to start.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years working as a nurse. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with people from all walks of life, each with their own experiences, challenges, and circumstances. My background in healthcare has shaped the way I approach therapy, with an emphasis on compassion, understanding, and meeting people where they are.

You may have been carrying a lot on your own for a long time, and you don't have to navigate everything alone. I offer virtual therapy to individuals across Ontario, providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard, explore your experiences, and work toward meaningful change. Taking that first step doesn't have to feel overwhelming.

My approach

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental.

I believe that everyone brings their own experiences, strengths, and challenges to therapy, and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach. I draw on evidence-informed therapeutic approaches while recognizing that you are the expert on your own life. I value taking the time to listen, understand your perspective, and meet you where you are. Together, we can explore what's important to you, work through challenges, and find approaches that fit your individual needs and goals.

  • You are the expert on your own life
  • I meet you where you are
  • Approaches that fit your individual needs and goals

Approaches I draw on

Most sessions blend a few of these, chosen to fit you rather than a set programme. I'll always tell you what I'm drawing on and why — and if something isn't a good fit, we can try a different direction.

Acceptance and Commitment TherapyACT
Instead of trying to get rid of difficult thoughts and feelings, ACT helps you make room for them — and put your energy into the values and choices that matter to you.
Cognitive Behavioural TherapyCBT
Explores how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours influence one another, and builds practical skills for working with unhelpful thought patterns.
Narrative Therapy
Looks at the stories we tell about our lives, and creates space to tell them differently — so a difficult chapter doesn't have to define who you are.
Psychodynamic Therapy
Considers how past experiences, and patterns you may not be fully aware of, shape how you feel and relate today — building self-understanding that goes beyond coping strategies.
Dialectical Behaviour TherapyDBT
Balances acceptance with change, and teaches concrete skills for managing intense emotions, getting through distress, and navigating relationships.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Oriented toward the present and future — focused on what's already working and what you'd like to see different, rather than staying with the problem.
Strengths-Based Approach
Starts from what you already have going for you — your resilience, skills, and supports — and builds from there.
Attachment-Based Approach
Considers how early relationships shape the way you connect with others now, and how those patterns can shift within a safe, steady therapeutic relationship.
Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Brings attention to the present moment with less judgment — helpful when the mind is caught up in the past, or in worrying about what might happen next.
